DLA Architecture worked with Hull College in the formulation of it's new strategic masterplan in order to rationalise the existing college estate and create a more efficient and attractive learning environment. As part of the implementation of Phase 1 of that study, DLA were commissioned to design 3 new buildings for the College. The most striking of those 3 buildings, located on a main route into the city, is the Horncastle Media and Performing Arts centre. The creation of this building fulfils the masterplanners desire for a landmark structure for this gateway site and houses a number of drama and dance rehearsal spaces, TV recording studios, music practice rooms, media suites and a centrepiece 200-seat multi purpose theatre.
