Client: University of Leeds, Department: Faculty of Bio-sciences
Location: Leeds
Construction Value: £2 million

Under our appointment on the University of Leeds Architects framework we are currently developing proposals for the refurbishment of the LC Miall Building for the relocation of the Faculty of Bio-Sciences. The newly created suite of flexible interconnected laboratory spaces for Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Physiology and Electrophysiology will be capable of being opened up into one giant 'Super Lab' for teaching in large year groups.

The labs are to be supported by a microscopy suite, academic offices and research space as well as a dedicated Bio-mechanics lab. The Biomechanics suite will offer state of the art facilities complete with an environmental chamber, video movement analysis and force plates for the study of human locomotion, exercise physiology and motor control.

The new Lab facilities will be supported by the latest in IT infrastructure and interactive technologies to provide a modern, flexible and responsive teaching and learning environment.
