Orleans Infants and Nursery School is located in a quiet suburban area of Twickenham, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
The project is considered in two phases. Phase 1 includes a new reception classroom and improvements to the existing facilities including a hall extension and full catering kitchen. This phase was completed in December 2011.
Phase 2 involves the changing of Orleans from its current Infant School arrangement to a 2FE Primary School. This includes two new build blocks of four classrooms, a new small hall and improvements to the existing classrooms in the Victorian building. Starts onsite July 2012.
The design process has developed in close liaison with staff, governors and the Local Authority as the schools needs have evolved against a background of changing pupil place allocation requirements shared with other local schools. The current scheme is designed in a way which provides flexibility for the second phase of development.
