Located on the northern urban fringe of Mirfield the 30.27 Acre site has a B1 and B2 use allocation but through extensive planning negotiations the scheme now includes a retirement village for the over 55s that promotes a full and active retirement regardless of age & state of health and represents a 'softer' use compared with the UDP allocation. The strategy for this innovative and 'life-style model' is to provide a positive environment that would create a lively community, by offering local facilities, meeting places, shared activities and freedom of choice, together with the security of 'care at home' if needed. The scheme comprises a diverse range of 344 no units including care bedrooms for high dependence residents, through to close care apartments that offer an independent lifestyle within the village community.
