DLA FreemanWhite were appointed to design a new purpose built Children's Centre in Featherstone, for the modernisation of respite care services for 5-19 year old children in the Wakefield Metropolitan Borough.

 

The scheme replaces two existing units in different locations with an integrated facility on a mature site that adjoins a public park, itself adjacent to a grade II listed building. It provides two four bed units with shared facilities. One unit caters for severely physically disabled children and the other for children with challenging behaviour.
