Masterplanning Framework for the City Campus site, on dramatic location overlooking the City Centre.

Strategy meets aspirations of the City Masterplan and responds to a12m fall across the site.

Client's aspiration for the most 'creative' college in the country led to an innovative consultation process involving the urban artist Denna Jones, with whom we produced an inspirational dvd entitled "Fishing in Bradford", as a creative resource.

The plan explores 'town/gown' connectivity, including pedestrian linkages, view corridors, skyline signage and a spatial and symbolic 'heart' at the centre of the project to foster a sense of community.

Conservation area issues have been considered in terms of massing and materials.

The strategy called for a careful analysis of curriculum space requirements, and the rationalisation of departments that are currently split across a number of sites.

A sophisticated phasing strategy was developed to allow the College to remain operational during the construction period.
