Location: Doncaster

This is one of English Partnership's Carbon Challenge projects for a new low carbon community on the site of the former Brodsworth Colliery to the north of Doncaster.

The scheme proposes a mix of 500 zero carbon homes, offices and workspace, community facilities and an imaginative public realm exploring issues of ecology and the mining heritage of the site.

In addition to the housing meeting Code for Sustainable Homes Level 6 (zero carbon), the layout also meets the requirements of Lifetime Homes, Building for Life, Secured by Design and integrates vehicular and play areas along 'Home Zone' principles.

Our strategy is based on the provision of a wind turbine which will help offset energy consumption, utilising an Energy Service Company, along with careful design and detailing to optimise annual heat losses and gains. We are one of two remaining bidders for this innovative project.
