6 FACET SURVEYS : NORFOLK & SUFFOLK

Client : Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust

With the help of a team of building surveyors and engineers, we undertook a 6 facet survey for the Trust in May 2015. A total of
82,075msq
were surveyed and
117 reports
were produced for the
84 individual properties
occupied by the Trust on a number of sites and locations.

It is envisaged that the information provided in the
final report
produced will enable the Trust to
improve
overall
management of the estate
. The results of the surveys can be used to determine and manage backlog maintenance, along with measuring risk in relation to sub-standard assets, allowing capital investment to be prioritised once the risk associated with sub-standard elements has been assessed.

The ultimate aim of such a property appraisal is to
calculate
the
maintenance cost
of the estate at an acceptable standard and identify where opportunities exist for
adaptation
and
rationalisation
. The underlying aim is to ensure that the estate, as a resource, is aligned with service objectives so that the Trust can provide the
right facilities
in the
right place
at the
right time
.
